Bingo that sneaks in some math
The 100th day is full of counting activities, and this game fits right in. The list mixes celebration words with different ways to make 100, including 50 + 50, 25 + 75, 10 tens and 20 fives. Children must recognise that each one has the same total, which is a good way to explore number sense in a playful setting.
Calling the game
Call each square exactly as printed for younger players. For a harder version with older students, describe it instead. You might say "half of 200" or "four groups of 25" and let children work out which square you mean. Keep a record on the caller sheet, so you can check each win.
Markers you can count
Use the same small items as your 100 collections, such as cereal, buttons or paper clips. When the game is over, have each child count how many markers they used and add it to a class total.
Pairing it with the day
Bingo makes a good closing activity once collections have been counted and displayed. For a quieter option earlier in the day, use our 100th Day word search. Younger classes may prefer a 3 × 3 card, which you can set in the options.
