The big jumps of kindergarten
Kindergarten is the year children go from counting to adding, and from knowing letters to reading their first words. The sheets here follow that path. They start with number writing and letter formation, move to addition and subtraction within 10, and finish the year with sums to 20 and a first set of sight words.
Math that builds number sense
The kindergarten math generator keeps every answer positive and every problem inside the range you choose. Begin with addition within 5, then within 10. Mix in subtraction once children can count back confidently. Because every press of "New sheet" makes a new page, children can't memorise answers, and you never run out of practice.
Handwriting and letters
Many kindergarten classes teach one letter a week. Use the letter tracing pages below, A to Z, each with uppercase and lowercase practice and words that start with the letter. The name tracing sheet is great at the start of the year, when children are learning to write their own name. The Christmas word tracing page adds seasonal fun in December.
Early reading
Sight word bingo turns the 40 Dolch pre-primer words into a game that children ask to play again. The "My First Word Search" uses an 8 × 8 grid with three-letter words that run only across and down, so beginners can find them.
A routine that works
Ten minutes a day is plenty: one math sheet, one tracing sheet or one game. Keep a folder so children can see how far they've come by the end of the term.
