What Pre-K math looks like
At this age, math is mostly about counting real things and matching a quantity to a numeral. These sheets show groups of pictures your child can touch and count one by one, then a box for writing the number. Start with numbers up to 5, move to 10 when counting feels easy, and try 20 near the end of the year.
How to use these sheets
- Count out loud together, touching each picture once.
- Let your child say the number before writing it.
- If writing numerals is still hard, they can point to the right number on a number line instead.
- Switch "Worksheet type" to Ten-frames once they can count to 10. Ten-frames teach children to see "five and two more" without counting every dot.
Make it seasonal
Change the theme to Thanksgiving or Christmas and the dots turn into leaves or stars. It's the same skill, but it feels like a holiday activity. Press "New sheet" for a fresh set of numbers whenever you like, so there's always another page for extra practice.
