Keep math going in December
December is the hardest month to hold attention: concerts, parties and countdowns all compete for it. A Christmas-themed sheet keeps fact practice going while matching the mood in the room. This page has a tree, a star and a gift in the header, a festive border, and 24 addition problems within 20.
Choose the right level
- Kindergarten: set "Largest number" to 5 for sums within 10.
- 1st grade: keep the default for facts within 20.
- 2nd grade: change the range to 10–99 with "With regrouping" and the vertical layout.
- Pre-K: choose Count and write. The counters turn into stars.
December activity ideas
- Advent math: one row of problems a day, crossed off like a calendar.
- Ornament answers: students colour an ornament on the class tree for every correct row.
- Holiday homework: print a fresh sheet with new problems for winter break, with no repeats from class.
The green theme stays readable in greyscale, so it works on a black-and-white school printer.
