A calm activity for a busy week
The days before Thanksgiving break are full of excitement and short on focus. A themed worksheet gives you a familiar routine that still feels special. This page has leaf, pumpkin and acorn decorations, a dashed autumn border and twenty addition problems with sums up to 10.
Who it's for
- Kindergarten: in late November, adding within 10 is right on target.
- 1st grade: use it as a quick warm-up or early-finisher page. Raise "Largest number" to 10 for sums to 20.
- Pre-K: switch the worksheet type to Picture addition. The counters become little leaves.
Classroom ideas
Pair the sheet with a "gratitude count": after finishing, children draw as many things they're thankful for as the answer to problem 20. Or turn it into a turkey hunt: hide finished sheets around the room for a Friday scavenger game.
