Settling into the school year
September is when the weekly routine comes back: early alarms, homework, sports practice and after-school clubs. Writing it all into one monthly view helps families spot clashes before they happen, such as two practices at the same time or a parents' evening on a work night.
September 2027 dates
- September 1 is a Wednesday.
- Labor Day: Monday, September 6, the first Monday of the month and a day off for most schools
- Grandparents Day is the Sunday after Labor Day: September 12 in 2027.
- The autumn equinox is Thursday, September 23.
Ideas for September
- Give each child a colour, and write in their clubs and practices for the whole month.
- Teachers can plan the first unit, mark back-to-school night and note any picture days.
- Start a homework routine: put a small tick in each day's box once homework is done.
- Use the notes lines for login details for school portals and important phone numbers. Keep it on the fridge, not online.
This preset prints in portrait with notes lines underneath, which suits a binder or a clipboard. UK schools usually start in early September, so switch to UK bank holidays and a Monday start for a British version.
