A fresh page for a fresh year
January is when most people decide to get organised, and a paper calendar is still one of the simplest ways to stick with it. This month starts on a Friday, so New Year's Day 2027 gives a three-day weekend before school and work start again on Monday, January 4.
Dates already marked
- New Year's Day: Friday, January 1
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 18 (a federal holiday and a day off for most schools)
Because the 1st falls on a Friday, this month needs six rows with a Sunday start. Switch to a Monday start and you get five rows with larger boxes.
Ideas for January
- Write one small goal in each Monday square and tick it off by Sunday.
- Kids can track a reading streak: colour a square for every day they read for 15 minutes.
- Teachers can mark the return from winter break, testing windows and the MLK Day service project.
- Use the custom title to make a "Dry January", "Daily Walk" or "Piano Practice" tracker.
The winter theme adds a snowflake border; change it to Plain to save ink. Planning further ahead? The weekly planner prints a dated page for every week of the month, and the February page is ready when you are.
