How to write 7
Seven is one stroke: a line across the top, then a long slant down to the left. Some people add a small bar across the middle, which is fine, but schools usually teach it without one.
Number facts for seven
One more than seven is 8, and one less is 6. 7 is odd, so 7 socks make 3 pairs with one left over. You can make seven as 6 + 1, 5 + 2 or 4 + 3. On a ten-frame it is a full row of five and 2 more. Count on from 7: 8, 9, 10. Count back: 6, 5, 4.
Seven in real life
There are seven days in a week. Say the days together, and draw a little sun in the empty row for each day, counting to seven. A rainbow has seven colours, too.
