How to write 20
Twenty is a 2 and a 0. The 2 is one stroke ending on a flat bottom; the 0 starts at the top and goes counter-clockwise.

One more than twenty is 21, and one less is 19. 20 is even, so 20 socks make 10 matching pairs. You can make twenty as 19 + 1, 18 + 2, 17 + 3 or 16 + 4. It is two tens and no ones, so two full ten-frames show it. Count on from 20: 21, 22, 23. Count back: 19, 18, 17.
