How to write T and t
Capital T: pull a line straight down from the middle of the top line, then lift and slide across the top. Lowercase t starts just below the top line, so it is shorter than l. Pull it down to the baseline and cross it on the midline.
The T sound
T is a quick tap of the tongue behind the top teeth, as in top, tree and toy.
Words to say and draw: top, tree, toy, ten, turtle.
What's on the sheet
The first T and the first t are solid, with numbered dots and arrows showing where each stroke starts and which way it goes. The rest of each row is dotted for tracing. Next comes a row of t words to trace, then an empty row for writing T and t alone. Choose Large for Pre-K or Medium for kindergarten, or switch to uppercase or lowercase only.
Activity idea
Write T and t on sticky notes and put them on building blocks. Each time your child traces a row of t on the sheet, they add a block to a tower.
